Better still in Ecosse's new range of iec power cables is 'The Big Purple Powerchord™. Again it uses our award-winning rope-lay weave construction, is cotton filled, and surrounded by a soft PVC vibration-absorbing jacket. One of the advantages of using a rope-lay weave is the considerable reduction of RFI/EMI/ESI noise ingress, offering a far superior performance to that of random stranded cables, offered by many of our high-price competitors. The soft PVC jacket offers excellent immunity from vibration and the cotton filler effectively damps internal resonance. All-important detail and fine resolution, together with dramatically extended soundstage and depth are the features of this superb, mid-priced mains cable. Mains termination is handled by an Audiophile-level plug with silver-plated fuse clips for low contact resistance-a world first at anything approaching this price- while an audiophile-favourite Schurter™ 320 Premier-grade iec completes the package. 'The Big Purple' has all the strengths of its sibling 'Orange', but ups the ante by a fair margin. Soundstage has greater width and depth, instruments in the mix occupy a more tangible space; bass is more extended and detailed, leading edges more incisive; mid and top that bit clearer with even greater presence. This cable is suitable for all source components and amplifiers (up to approx. 200W/ch) and is available in 0.8m, 1.2m, 1.6m and 2.0m lengths as standard. Match it perfectly (well near as dammit) with our other cables by going here. |
